CONTEXT: Acute hypotensive transfusion reactions are potentially harmful adverse effects of transfusion attributable to bradykinin generation. They are most often seen in patients taking angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (ACE-Is) because of the role ACE plays in metabolizing bradykinin.
