We purified fission yeast DNA topoisomerase II (topo II) to apparent homogeneity. It consists of a single 165-kDa polypeptide in sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and, upon treatment with a bifunctional reagent, doubles its molecular weight.
