We previously reported that stable overexpression of protein kinase C alpha (PKCalpha) in hormone responsive T47D:A18 breast cancer cells produces a hormone-independent/tamoxifen (TAM)-resistant and 17beta-estradiol (E2)-inhibitory phenotype in vivo.
