S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (AdoMetDC) is a key enzyme in the synthesis of polyamines essential for cell growth and proliferation. Its overexpression induces the transformation of murine fibroblasts in both sense and antisense orientations, yielding highly invasive tumors in nude mice.
