Abstract excerpt
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) is a major drug-metabolising enzyme. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, present in high concentrations in tobacco smoke and charcoal-broiled meat, are known to induce CYP1A2.
