Acute graft rejection after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) is associated with leukocyte infiltration of the graft. Monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) is a beta-chemokine involved in the attraction and accumulation of mononuclear granulocytes toward sites of inflammation.
