BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) is one of the enzymes involved in folate metabolism and DNA methylation and synthesis. Some genotypes of this highly polymorphic enzyme are associated with decreased activity.
