The tRNA endonuclease from the archaebacterium Methanococcus jannaschii (MJ endonuclease) can cleave RNAs forming specific bulge-helix-bulge (BHB) structures recognized by the enzyme. The resulting cleavage products are subsequently joined together by an endogenous ligase.
