Two candidate genes for bone mineral density (BMD), tumor necrosis factor alpha receptor 2 (TNFRSF1B) and lysyl hydroxylase (PLOD1), have been scanned for single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within their coding and promoter regions.
