OBJECTIVES: To identify whether mutations in gyrA and gyrB confer fluoroquinolone resistance in Bacteroides fragilis. METHODS: Eight fluoroquinolone-resistant (FQR) strains were complemented with plasmid-mediated B. fragilis wild-type gyrA (pMP1) and gyrB (pMP2), and MICs determined.
