Mice heterozygous for the retinoblastoma (Rb) tumor suppressor gene develop pituitary and thyroid tumors with high penetrance. We demonstrate here that loss of the ARF tumor suppressor strongly accelerates intermediate lobe pituitary tumorigenesis in Rb heterozygous mice.
