Several inhibitors of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) kinase and Src family kinases (SFK) were employed to study the role of these kinases in EGFR internalization through clathrin-coated pits. The EGFR kinase-specific compound PD158780 substantially diminished EGFR internalization.
