Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) is a hereditary disorder characterized by gastrointestinal hamartomatous polyposis associated with mucocutaneous pigmentation. Germ-line mutations of the gene encoding LKB1 (STK11), a serine/threonine kinase, are identified in most PJS patients.
