Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS) is a rare autoimmune neuromuscular disorder characterized by pathogenic autoantibodies directed against the presynaptic voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCC), resulting in a clinical syndrome of proximal muscular weakness and autonomic dysfunction.
