<h4>Background</h4> Amylin is a 37-amino-acid peptide hormone co-secreted with insulin, which participates in glucose homeostasis. This hormone is able to aggregate in a β-sheet conformation and deposit in islet amyloids, a hallmark in type II diabetes.
