<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> The AAA+ protein disaggregase, Hsp104, increases fitness under stress by reversing stress-induced protein aggregation. We have engineered potentiated Hsp104 variants to antagonize proteotoxic misfolding linked to human neurodegenerative diseases.
