Chemotherapeutic treatment of breast cancer with Doxorubicin can induce tumor and stromal cell senescence leading to therapy-resistance. Senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) promotes secretion of pro-inflammatory and tumorigenic factors causing systemic inflammation.
