The IFNγ-induced GTPase guanylate binding protein 1 (GBP1) binds to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on cytosolic Gram-negative bacteria and promotes pyroptosis via the recruitment and activation of caspase-4 on the bacterial outer membrane.
