Paclitaxel (taxol) is a commonly used chemotherapeutic that stabilizes microtubules to inhibit chromosome segregation during mitosis. Although it is used effectively to treat a wide variety of solid tumour types, it also impairs healthy cell proliferation leading to severe dose-limiting toxicities.
