<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Mutations in the promoter of the telomerase reverse transcriptase ( TERT ) gene are the paradigm of a cross-cancer alteration in a non-coding region. TERT promoter mutations (TPMs) are biomarkers of poor prognosis in several tumors, including thyroid cancers.
