2025-03-17

Abstract excerpt

Background:
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a fatal muscle wasting disease caused by mutations in the dystrophin gene resulting in cycles of muscle degeneration, inflammation and regeneration. The 6-minute walk test (6MWT) is a key functional outcome measure for DMD patient clinical trials and has been adapted for use in animal models of the disease.
