ToxR and ToxS are integral membrane proteins that activate the transcription of virulence genes in Vibrio cholerae. ToxR can be separated into three different domains: an N-terminal cytoplasmic DNA binding domain, a central transmembrane domain, and a C-terminal periplasmic domain.
