Chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) induces corneal sarcomas in the South American opossum Monodelphis domestica. Cell lines are readily established from these tumors. Northern blotting of mRNA from six such cell lines revealed high expression of the H-ras oncogene.
