The effects of cis-unsaturated free fatty acids such as linoleic and linolenic acid on ACh-evoked currents were examined using normal and mutant nicotinic acetylcholine (ACh) receptors lacking protein kinase C (PKC) phosphorylation sites on the alpha and delta subunits expressed in Xenopus oocytes.
