A genotypic analysis of the HIV-1 proteinase was performed on clinical specimen obtained from patients after different periods of Saquinavir (SQV) treatment. Proteinase genes of integrated proviral DNA from PBMC were isolated by PCR, cloned and individual sequences were obtained.
