BACKGROUND: p53 mutations are the most frequently observed tumor-related genetic changes. Mutational analysis concerns mostly carcinomas and is not comprehensive for soft tissue sarcomas. Among soft tissue sarcomas, malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) and liposarcoma represent the most frequent tumor types.
