A clinical Escherichia coli strain highly resistant to the combinations of amoxicillin-clavulanate, ampicillin-sulbactam, and piperacillin-tazobactam was isolated from a patient with a community-acquired urinary tract infection who was previously treated with amoxicillin-clavulanate.
