Acoziborole is a safe, single dose, oral therapy, for treatment of both early and late-stage sleeping sickness, a deadly disease caused by African trypanosomes. Other benzoxaboroles show efficacy against other trypanosomatids, apicomplexans, fungi, bacteria, and viruses.
