While the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway promotes anti-tumor immunity by detecting cytoplasmic DNA and inducing type I interferons, it also facilitates immune evasion through PD-L1 upregulation.
