Gpn2 is a highly conserved protein essential for the assembly of RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) in eukaryotic cells. Mutations in Gpn2, specifically Phe105Tyr and Leu164Pro, confer temperature sensitivity and significantly impair RNAPII assembly.
