Culturing and genomic sequencing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) from tuberculosis (TB) cases is the basis for many research and clinical applications. The alternative, culture-free sequencing from diagnostic samples, is promising but poses challenges to obtain and analyse the MTB genome.
