Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) are produced in the heart and secreted into the circulation. As hormones, both peptides activate the guanylyl cyclase receptor A (GC-A), playing a role in blood pressure (BP) regulation.
