AIM: In the mammalian circadian clock, the CLOCK/BMAL1 heterodimer binds to E-box enhancer elements in the promoters of its target genes to activate transcription. The classical Clock mice, the first circadian mouse mutant discovered, are behaviourally arrhythmic.
