BAP1 is a tumor suppressor gene implicated in DNA repair and cell growth. Individuals with germline BAP1 mutations are at a significantly increased risk for developing many different cancers including malignant mesothelioma, uveal melanomas, cutaneous melanomas and renal clear cell carcinomas.
