PURPOSE: In contrast to recurrence after initial diagnosis of stage I-III breast cancer [recurrent metastatic breast cancer (rMBC)], de novo metastatic breast cancer (dnMBC) represents a unique setting to elucidate metastatic drivers in the absence of treatment selection.
