The Spt-Ada-Gcn5 Acetyltransferase (SAGA) chromatin modifying complex is a critical regulator of gene expression and is highly conserved across species. Subunits of SAGA arrange into discrete modules with lysine aceyltransferase and deubiquitinase activities housed separately.
