PURPOSE: The diagnosis of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is based largely on a combination of clinical and radiological findings due to the difficulty of obtaining a biopsy. An accurate evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans is consequently essential.
