The purinergic P2X2 receptor (P2X2R) is an adenosine triphosphate-gated ion channel widely expressed in the nervous system. Here, we identified a putative cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) phosphorylation site in the full-size variant P2X2aR (TPKH), which is absent in the splice variant P2X2bR.
