Many organophosphates (OPs) are used as pesticides in agriculture. They pose a severe health hazard due to their inhibitory effect on acetylcholinesterase. Therefore, detoxification of water and soil contaminated by OPs is important. Metalloenzymes such as methyl parathion hydrolase (MPH) from Pseudomonas sp.
