Point mutations of c-ras genes were analyzed in human gastrointestinal cancers. DNA obtained from the tissues was amplified by polymerase chain reaction and then analyzed by dot blot hybridization assay with oligonucleotide probes to detect mutations at codons 12, 13, and 61 of c-Ki-ras, c-Ha-ras, and c-N-ras.
