A temperature-sensitive cell-cycle mutant, tsJT16, which has been isolated from Fischer rat fibroblasts, was defective in the function(s) that operated soon after growth stimulation. When G0-arrested tsJT16 was stimulated to proliferate, it entered the S phase after 12-15 h at 34 degrees C but failed to do so at 40 degrees C.
