BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: A role for the protein that mediates the rate-limiting step of steroidogenesis, the 18 kDa Translocator Protein (TSPO), has been suggested in the pathophysiology of Adult Separation Anxiety Disorder (ASAD).
