Programmed cell death 1 (PDCD-1) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4) both negatively regulate the T-cell response in chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. This study determined genotypes of PDCD1 -606 G/A and +8669 G/A and CTLA4 -318 C/T and +49 A/G polymorphisms in 172 chronic HBV patients and 145 healthy controls and analyzed the interaction between these polymorphisms of the 2 genes....
