RATIONALE: c-myb null (knockout) embryonic stem cells (ESC) can differentiate into cardiomyocytes but not contractile smooth muscle cells (SMC) in embryoid bodies (EB). OBJECTIVE: To define the role of c-Myb in SMC differentiation from ESC.
