AIMS: Neurodegenerative processes may be involved in the pathogenesis of tardive dyskinesia (TD), and a growing body of evidence suggests that brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) plays a role in both the antipsychotic effects and the pathogenesis of TD.
