Phosphatidate phosphatase-1 (PAP1) enzymes have a key role in glycerolipid synthesis through the conversion of phosphatidate to diacylglycerol, the immediate precursor of triacylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, and phosphatidylethanolamine.
