PURPOSE: DNA damage checkpoints are initiated by its sensor proteins of the phosphoinositide-3-kinase-related protein kinase family, including ataxia-telangiectasia mutated, ataxia-telangiectasia and Rad3-related, and DNA-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit (DNA-PKcs).
