Internalization of the PTH type I receptor (PTH1R) is regulated in a cell- and ligand-specific manner. We previously demonstrated that the sodium/proton exchanger regulatory factor type 1 (NHERF1; EBP50) is pivotal in determining the range of peptides that internalize the PTH1R.
