Multiplexing genotyping technologies usually require as many probes as genetic variants. Oligonucleotides that span multiple loci--loci spanning probes (LSProbes)--hybridize to two or more noncontiguous DNA sequences present in a template and can be used to analyze multiple variants simultaneously.
