In a cross between the Munich Wistar Frömter (MWF) rat and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), a major quantitative trait locus (QTL) was identified on rat chromosome 6 (RNO6) that demonstrated the strongest linkage to albuminuria among several QTL identified.
